As holiday parties come to a close and a new year is upon us, it is time to take stock. It’s never okay to let a day slip by unnoticed but this day is even more special and important.

It’s a day to start anew.

The first day of 2017 is a day of opportunity and possibility.

I love New Year’s resolutions but, more than that, I love the freedom that comes from knowing that there are 365 days ahead and that when those days are gone my life will look entirely differently than it does today.

Just as I reflect and journal about all that transpired in 2016, saying good-bye to ups and downs, I also know that I will sit and reflect on 2017 the same way.

Only today – it’s all in front of me and that is truly invigorating!

What will these next 52 weeks bring? What “control” do I have over the events about to unfold?

I’m from the camp that I DO have some control.

While I believe that a Higher Power guides my life in general, I know that I can impact the little things and I plan do so BIG TIME!

But how?

Here’s my plan to make the most of 2017 right out of the gate.

Create a vision. Plan the year. Set (achievable) goals. Evaluate. Plan some more. Set more goals. Re-evaluate. Celebrate the successes and learn from the failures.

Yep, that’s it.

I will sit with my journal, look at the year ahead and decide what I want it to include. I will write it down. Once it is in black and white it takes on a life of it’s own. I will post my goals because otherwise, they will be forgotten by Valentine’s Day. Then, everyday when I brush my teeth at night, I will see those goals and remind myself of how important they are to me and to my family.

One promise I can make (to you and to myself) is that the upcoming year will bring many opportunities for us to connect through my on-line offerings and resources. Some I have created and others are still gestating but all will express my life’s passion to educate, equip and empower you to your best life.

2016 was a year of self-reflection and brought me one step closer to my ultimate ambition of balance at home and work but I remain mildly unsettled and under actualized. Despite health challenges, this past year brought great strides toward acceptance and love of all that I have and all that I am.

My word for 2016 is “acceptance.”

Augmented by my role as wife and mother, I am here on this earth to pour into women who are capable and powerful but feeling overwhelmed, lost and alone. Society is suffocating women, keeping us busy and small, in constant service to everyone else. We can’t let the chaos of life win when so much is at stake. It’s time to calm the chaos and become the authority on your life. The year ahead looks bright and filled with inner peace and outer joy. I’m excited to be on this journey with you.

My true passion is to bring valuable, safe and researched tools and resources to you so that you can find the health, vitality, energy and self-love to become the woman you are intended to be.

My word for 2017 is “freedom.”

More on freedom soon but I welcome YOUR word for the upcoming year. Let's engage in discussion about what resonates for you and how your word will guide your path in 2017. Connect on Facebook:
